Hawzah News Agency- Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Hussein Nouri Hamedani had a meeting with the members of General Assembly of Qom Seminary Teachers' Society on Sunday, October 20, during which he criticized the change of the seminary textbooks and said,” Our way is the way of Sheikh Ansari, Sheikh Tusi and other elders. I strongly disagree with this trend, since our great scholars followed the same path. Of course, some topics need to be summarized, but we are against removing a part of the book and replacing it with another book in terms of content and giving points.”

This Shia source of emulation further emphasized that the courses of the seminary should be free and every student who wants to study should be free to choose a course and a professor. He added, “that seminary students should go to a certain institution and study under a certain professor with certain conditions, this is not ideal. In the past, when students entered Qom seminary, they would attend different courses for several days and choose the professor themselves, and the lessons and books were known and at the end they would be given an exam.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the senior cleric referred to his presence in Feyzieh Seminary School and Dar al-Shefa a few days ago, and criticized the lack of enthusiasm and presence of the students compared to the past.

Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani further pointed out that Qom seminary should address the needs of the Islamic world, especially the Shia Islam, and emphasized that God willing, we will strengthen the seminary with unity and solving the problems.

The Grand Ayatollah, while praising the general assembly of the Society of Seminary Teachers, asked them to follow up on the issues and problems.

At the beginning of this meeting, Hujjat al-Islam Soleimani Ardahali presented a report on the activities and programs of the assembly, and some other members of the assembly made suggestions.
